Leizhan combines a wedge-wire screen drum with a variable-pitch screw to address these challenges. Pulp residue enters the machine’s lower, partially submerged chamber, where spiral blades lift the heavier material toward the discharge outlet. Sand, metal fragments and undigested fiber bundles are removed at the top, while reusable fibers and pulp pass through the screen slots and return to the purification system.

A self-cleaning scraper drive works alongside the screen drum and screw assembly to keep the screening surface clear. Developed with discrete element method (DEM) simulations and on-site pulp residue testing, the system applies a steady scraping action across the inside of the drum. This helps limit screen blockage when processing concentrated recycled pulp residue containing abrasive contaminants and irregular fibrous material. The machine supports reliable operation, consistent drainage of discharged slag and the continuous return of recovered pulp to the production process, helping reduce maintenance interruptions.
